Why We're Launching The Mindsmatter Newsletter
And what you can do to support it right now (p.s. the answer is to subscribe)
Dear friends:
We believe that the di-stigmatization of mental health is the right everyone. The right support, encouragement and love. Without judgement and fear of scorn. That's why we have created this blog. To bring together all of your stories, resources, tips and tricks, creating a community where we can share how we feel, supporting each other, and giving us the platform to share our experiences and insights. Because stories, stories like ours help those who are like us, knowing that we are not alone in what we are going through can make all the difference. That is why we've created the Mindsmatter blog, to create a platform for the expression and de-stigmatization of mental health, a place to share our stories and help those suffering - together. Because Mindsmatter.
As well as having created this platform for the expression, destigmatization, non-judgemental safe-space for those with mental health issues, we also provide guidance and assistance to enable anyone experiencing a mental health problem to live a full and rich life, to grow and blossom into people with a beautiful tapestry reflecting their happy and fulfilled life. We will never stop until every single person going through a mental health problem is given the help they need, without stigma.
We’ve also been looking for a way to stay more connected with our readers - to weigh in when some new study comes out - and to keep people updated about what we’re writing and reading.
Hence, a newsletter! It gets sent out every couple of weeks, with some combination of new data, new facts and new links. Stay tuned and meantime forward this to your friends so they can sign up!!
Why We're Launching The Mindsmatter Newsletter
I am relatively new to Medium and just discovered Mindsmatter. I don't understand much about it, about publications versus "publishing" on one's home page (if that's what it's called), and my learning curve right now is steep but I hope to figure it all out in the not-too-distant future. I hope to find my people here.
Being a mental health professional, I have always been a little disturbed by the term "Mental Health" to really refer to "Mental Illness," and think that it would be great to change the mission statement to "de-stigmatize Mental Illness" instead of de-stigmatizing Mental Health.
